New SL | New CEC Wheels

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

For nearly 60 years, Mercedes-Benz has created a standard for sports cars to come. Almost six decades after the original, the 2013, 6th edition SL has been crafted for release later this year. The fresh design of the new body style, interior and new engine creates a new interpretation of the classic roadster. The most innovative element of the new body is the Magic Sky Control roof, allowing the driver to control the transparency with one click of a button.

The 20” staggered CEC c883 provides a perfect stylistic addition to the SL550 making it as exceptional aesthetically as it is athletically. Revealed for the first time in a Chrome finish, the monoblock construction of the c883 flawlessly compliments the latest SL550.

Exceptional options for the SL550 include CEC’s c882. For a more sophisticated style, the c882 is created to compliment complex lines. Shown in Gunmetal/Machined Finish, the c882 is also available in Gloss Black/Machined finish.

Also featured on the SL550 are the soon to be released 20” staggered c884. The c884 is featured in matte black/machined finish on the SL550. Made to model the c884 Forged, the c884 provide a sense of balance between form and function with a classic design.

Stay tuned for the upcoming official release of the c884

Twin 458s at CEC

Monday, May 14, 2012

Something rarely seen in the tuning industry is a showroom people can actually visit. Visitors stop into our Los Angeles showroom to see our wheels and the cars that we’ve upgraded. Given the popularity of the Ferrari 458 recently, we knew it was sure to be a hit. That’s exactly what happened when one of these visitors saw our Ferrari featured on Team Speed, and then saw it on the showroom floor.

As a Ferrari owner himself, he knew he wanted his own Ferrari to match the one he had seen. He opted for Matte Black 3M wrap on the roof and the side skirts to his red 458 and added a Novitec rear spoiler. Our Ferrari had staggered Motegi Racing wheels but he wasn’t leaving without adding some CEC c884 Forged wheels to his upgraded Ferrari. The c884 Forged were in a custom matte black finish with a red outer ring accent, front wheels measuring 9x21” (with 255/30ZR21 Pirelli P-Zero) and rear wheels in 12x22” (with 335/25ZR22 Pirelli P-Zero).

We think The Ferrari Twins became a huge success at CEC. Make sure to let us know what you think in the comments below.

A Little Creativity Goes A Long Way

Wednesday, May 09, 2012

Doing something as simple as painting the chrome trim on a car or changing the color of the brake calipers not only enhances the look of the vehicle, but makes the entire wheel and tire package stand out even more. This appealing CEC Treatment proves that a little creativity will truly go a long way. The best part—it is eye-catching on almost all makes and models.

The CEC Treatment looks great on Lexus in any color from the darkest shades of black to the purest white. The trim is painted in a similar color to the wheels to create a smooth flow throughout the whole vehicle. On both Lexus GS350’s, the chrome trim is painted matte gunmetal to match the striking design of the c882 and the red calipers build a bold statement, making the wheels especially prominent.

Similar to the Lexus, the Mercedes Benz vehicles have been given the CEC Treatment, confirming that it’s perfect for very different models alike. Whether you have custom painted wheels or colored calipers, this type of treatment will display the perfect balance of color and design.

This treatment can include:
  • exterior window trim
  • exterior badges
  • door handles
  • side mirrors
  • lower and upper front grills
  • rear trunk and bumper trim
  • exhaust tips
  • tail lights
  • brake calipers
  • Don't miss the opportunity to take your car modification to the next level

    Monday, May 07, 2012

One of four versions of the latest 2012 Porsche is the Porsche Targa, a luxury sports car. The most unique element of this car is the glass roof, creating an unmatched view for any passenger. Unlike any convertible, the glass roof offers this view even when it is closed.

Specifically designed for today’s luxury and exotic automobiles, the c882 split five spoke design offers the perfect fit for the 2012 Porsche 911 Targa 4S. The deep concave profile of the rear wheels accentuate the staggered 20” c882 Forged, giving the Targa even more bold, aggressive look. The c882 is built to order in custom finishes and is available in Matte Black/Machined as well as Anthracite/Machined. Ferrari GTO + CEC c884 Forged = PERFECTION!

    Thursday, May 03, 2012

Improvements to the Ferrari 599 GTB seemed nearly impossible until the 2011 release of the Ferrari 599 GTO. This Ferrari is considered to be the road-version of the 599XX, the fastest and most powerful car of its kind. Based on the 599XX, the Italian engineers focused on four primary concepts, increasing power, decreasing weight, reducing understeer, and improving downforce combined to create the most powerful Ferrari ever on the road.

Perfectly combined, the GTB and 599XX have fused to create the GTO, with ultimate power and torque. Not only has the GTO adopted the crankshafts and intake system of the 599XX, the GTO’s 6.0 liter V-12 engine is about 90% of the 599XX, according to Ferrari, with exhaust and catalytic converters making the GTO eight decibels louder.

Aside from being the most powerful Ferrari on the road, the 599 GTO is even lighter than its predecessors. Up to 220lbs lighter than the GTB, the GTO, among many features, has shed eighteen pounds from the transmission and twenty nine pounds from the exhaust due to Hydroforming Technology, allowing for thinner tubing and fewer welds.

The aerodynamic innovations of the GTO improve downforce and reduce understeer. The changes in the chassis result in an almost complete absence of understeer. In addition, the aerodynamic features of the GTO increase downforce without impacting drag, ideal for those who want to maximize their high-performance drive.

Like the performance and unmatched quality of the GTO, the c884 Forged is the essential wheel for extracting maximum performance and timeless design. With state-of-the-art techniques, the c884 Forged provides the ideal balance of form and function with sizing in front 9x21" (255/30/21 Pirelli P-Zero) and rear 12x22" (335/25/22 Pirelli P-Zero). The weight saving methods implemented in these wheels considerably reduces unsprung weight and make the c884 Forged the ultimate selection for the lightest, most powerful Ferrari yet.

The c884 Forged is available in almost any finish conceivable with single or multiple tones. Sizing is available in 19”, 20”, 21”, and 22” diameters in widths from 8.5” to 13”. The c884 Forged is custom machined for each specific application.
