ACS5 Touring

The 5-series Touring is truly multi-talented in its standard versions. For our engineers and designers, it offered more than a challenge to give the "AC Schnitzer touch" to an already functional, aesthetical and successful vehicle. After extensive development work, the modifications which had proved successful in the saloon were adapted for the 5-series Touring model.

Performance Upgrades

Engine tuning and performance upgrades have a long tradition at AC Schnitzer. To be on the safe side however, we prefer not to extract the maximum possible power but instead ensure greater robustness, which means a longer life of the engine. Many of our diesel performance upgrades are therefore designed for an increase in torque rather than an increase in horsepower. Because torque is what you feel when for example you're "pressed back in the seat" on pulling away. With or without engine tuning, a sports rear silencer of V2A stainless steel gives improved responding behavior. And to shorten shifting travel, we have developed a special "Short Shift" gear shift.

Suspension

Extensive testing has led to the development especially for the 5-series Touring of an aluminum sports suspension to meet the highest standards in all respects: ensure driving safety and dynamic performance even when you've got all the holiday luggage on board. In addition the suspension concept is completed with anti roll bars, aluminum strut braces and - for pure lowering of the 5 series - with a spring kit.

The Bodywork

In the development of the aerodynamic components - in sports elegant design - we have remained true to our heritage and created a high quality aerodynamic conversion of PU-Rim which increases down force and forms a harmonious whole with the overall aesthetics.

Interior

For the 5-series interior we offer an extensive range of exclusive accessories made of high quality materials. Beside the carbon fiber interior the cockpit can be enhanced in design with airbag sports steering wheels, aluminum foot rests and pedals.

The Wheels

Specially adapted wheel and tire combinations up to the dimension of 245/35 R 19 front and 275/30 R 19 rear with light alloy and racing rims in Type II and III are also available to complete the range in terms of driving dynamics.
