ACS5 Touring
Aerodynamic components in sporting, elegant design, engine tuning, light alloy and racing rims in various sizes and styles, and numerous interesting accessories: AC Schnitzer offers a sporting tuning range for the elegant estate.
Performance Upgrades
Engine tuning and performance upgrades have a long tradition at AC Schnitzer. To be on the safe side however, we prefer not to extract the maximum possible power but instead ensure greater robustness, which means a longer life of the engine. Many of our diesel performance upgrades are therefore designed for an increase in torque rather than an increase in horsepower. Because torque is what you feel when for example you're "pressed back in the seat" on pulling away.
Suspension
The suspension solutions which have been thoroughly tested in an extensive program - including, among others, the North Loop of the Nürburgring - have been specially matched to the use of low profile performance tires. As well as lowering the car by around 30 millimeters, the sports suspension ensures more sporting handling in combination with excellent driving comfort. As a reasonable extension we offer the anti-roll bars and a racing aluminum strut brace, which stabilizes the front end particularly in fast cornering and braking maneuvers.
The Bodywork
Among other things we offer a front spoiler which not only guarantees a more striking outfit but also improves down force on the front axle. The recessed air intakes provide optimum cooling for the front brakes. A further upgrade to the E60 comes with the aerodynamic sports mirrors. The side view seems to be even more elongated the new side skirts. A rear a rear roof spoiler and a rear skirt (for cars with and without trailer coupling) provide aerodynamic balance for the rear. Individual highlights are set with the Chrome line Set. Ordered as an option, this accentuates the front spoiler, side skirts and rear skirt. The rear skirt makes the 5-series Touring look more powerful thanks to the integral braced under-floor wing, and harmoniously integrates the solid stainless steel rear silencer with chromed racing tailpipe trim.
Interior
The cockpit can also be enhanced with chic but practical accessories - e.g. the ergonomically designed airbag sports steering wheel in leather or with carbon fiber applications. A carbon-fiber interior kit in silver for the dashboard and door trims is also available. Through the development of an aluminum cover for the controller of the BMW "i-Drive system" the proverbial "icing on the cake" experiences an accurate ambiguity. Last but not least, the aluminum foot rest and pedals, gear knobs or automatic selector levers and finally, velour floor mats in the AC Schnitzer design underline the complete interior essentially.
The Wheels
Specially adapted wheel and tire combinations up to the dimension of 255/30 R 20 front and 295/25 R 20 rear with light alloy and racing rims in Type II, III and Type IV are also available to complete the range in terms of driving dynamics.
The absolute highlight in the wheel range is the new "Type V - Forged Wheel". This lightweight forged wheel with the bi-color finish achieves an apparent contradiction: Reduction in weight with simultaneous maximum wheel diameters and widths. It is available in the dimensions 9,0Jx20" and 10,0Jx20" and the weight of the front axle wheel is only approx. 10,8 kg.
