AC SCHNITZER Program for the E46 M3

The ACS3 Sport

High performance technology linked with sporting comfort makes the BMW M3 a unique vehicle in its segment, and it is without doubt one of the best vehicles available today. From its motorsport experience, AC Schnitzer has created a tailor-made product range for this small clientele with sporting ambitions. The concept of the BMW M3 takes into account both technically and visually the demands of a highly sophisticated clientele.

Performance Upgrades

Improving an already excellent car was not an easy task. It is usually better to leave well alone every component which really cannot be improved. This is the case with the M3 engine - so this has been left untouched.  But the AC Schnitzer rear axle ratio modification and the rear silencer of V2A stainless steel is still a must. Described by the editors of "sport auto" as an "imposing work of art", this "has a convincing appearance and powerful voice" and also ensures better response behavior.  The "Short Shift" gear conversion allows more precise and faster gear changes, to emphasize sporting changes.

The Suspension Technology

The overall concept is therefore orientated towards optimizing the handling. With success, as "sport auto" concluded after our driving tests at Hockenheim: "On the 2.6 km track, where it can demonstrate its clearly more agile driving and handling behavior, it crosses the line with a one second lead over its standard brother. The ACS3 Sport has superb handling properties." The M3 owes this in part to the AC Schnitzer racing suspension, the short shift gear change and modified rear axle ratio.

The Bodywork

More safety reserves are mobilized by the AC Schnitzer aerodynamic conversion, e.g. with its carbon fiber front spoiler with aluminum reinforced flipper or the carbon fiber and aluminum rear diffuser. Last but not least there is the racing rear wing, which according to the "sport auto" wind tunnel test reduces lift by 21.3 kg (not available anymore).

The Interior

The AC Schnitzer special accessory range is completed with airbag steering wheels and high quality interior components made of carbon fiber, leather and aluminum and last but not least a rollover bar.

The Wheels

The alloy or racing wheels Type II, III and Type IV available in sizes up to 20" ensure the necessary road handling in particularly in fast driving.
