AC Schnitzer's one-of-a-kind 552hp "Tension", which was the inspiration for the newly introduced street version, also inspired the editors of "AutoBild sportscars" when seeking potential candidates for a "Beyond 200mph" challenge.

The event was by invitation only in Nardo, Italy. After completing the GPS speed measurement on the 8 mile high speed test track, the official speed was confirmed to be 206.1 miles per hour. 

This remarkable speed performance ranks the AC Schnitzer TENSION as the fastest BMW in the world. This demonstration proves that the TENSION's speed does not come from maximum engine power alone, but is the result of the careful engineering, design and implementation of performance components, as is the case with every AC Schnitzer tuning program.
