When CHAMP Car asked CEC to partner with them for a party to launch the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, the answer was a no-brainer.

For the past two years, CEC successfully celebrated the start of the Grand Prix from our West LA Showroom. Contributing to these successful parties was the participation of CHAMP Car's Paul Tracy, who is a personal friend of Claus Ettensberger and is also sponsored by CEC.

The idea of moving the event to the streets of Long Beach further served to elevate the enthusiasm and insured that many professional drivers would be in attendance.

On Thursday night April 7th, over 500 guests packed Smooth's Sports Grille on Pine Avenue. There, CEC had display vehicles parked curbside and a gorgeous 997 under the canopy tuned by TechArt. CHAMP Car supplied racing simulators that were a huge hit; food and drinks were complimentary.

Inside, CEC and CHAMP Car's DVD played on every screen as guests mingled, wined and dined. CHAMP Car Series owner Kevin Kalkhoven joined the party as did professional drivers Paul Tracy, Jimmy Vasser, Cristiano da Matta, AJ Almendinger, Justin Wilson, Ryan Hunter-Reay and more.
 

TV crews and various publications like Racer, RPM, Angeleno and Robb Report added to the excitement as the party went on into the early morning hours.
