In the "Driver's Notebook" of the April Robb Report Collection, writer and photographer Jan Morgan reviews AC Schnitzer's project Topster.

The initial impact of the Topster's unconventional orange and yellow paint job consistently sets folks back wondering if this car should be taken seriously. Mr. Morgan felt the same, and actually laughed out loud when he first saw the car.

It didn't take long to figure out that this 450hp V8 roadster was no joke. Just about every component developed for the Topster conversion by AC Schnitzer is one-of-a-kind.

When Jan used aggressive driving techniques, "the Topster maintained its poise with accurate communicative steering and plenty of grip."  He continues, "The huge brakes were also excellent; they were precise and did not overheat even when pushed hard downhill."ACS'S TOPSTER UTILIZES AN M5 ENGINEACS'S TOPSTER UTILIZES AN M5 ENGINE

The Topster project car began as a Z4. Among its many modifications, AC Schnitzer integrated an M5 motor, added a hard top for stability and widened the track by more than five inches.
