The Boxster is Porsche’s first road vehicle to be originally designed as a roadster since the 550 Spyder. This rear mid-engine, rear wheel drive, 2-seat sports car is currently in it’s third generation designated as the type 981. Announced at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show, both the Boxster and Cayman were debuted with new sheetmetal influenced by Porsche’s new design language from the 911 (991) and 918 Spyder.

World renowned Belgium tuner, Caractere Performance, just pulled the wraps off their latest offering for Audi. Introducing the Caractere Performance tuning program for the Audi A5 and S5 Facelift.  The aerodynamic program consists of complete front bumper, rear diffuser with or without muffler and Caractere designed tips, boot spoiler and set of side skirts. The (996) Porsche 991 GT2 was the best Porsche had to offer during 1999-2005. Featuring a twin-turbo charged 3.6L engine, producing 475 hp and 470 lb/ft of torque and a 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds, this was the fastest Porsche of its time.

So when the guys at Need4Speed Motorsports contacted us to request wheels for this 997 build, it was a no brainer to offer one of our newest CEC wheel; the c884. With it's simple, clean and concave design, the staggered 20" (front 20"x8.5" & rear 20"x11") c884 fit perfectly on this Porsche 911 Carrera S with the Misha GTM2 body kit. The 2014 Range Rover Sport was officially unveiled at the 2013 New York Autoshow today. From the looks of it, the new 2014 Range Rover Sport will be a natural addition to the upcoming Land Rover model lineup. The distinctive new head & tail lamp designs mated to a clean and elegant body will be the staple of the Range Rover's new design DNA. This new design language could leave some traditionalists scrambling to get their hands on a current generation Range Rover Sport, and that's exactly what one of our customers did. 

This black on black 2013 Range Rover Sport was presented to us with the intention of transforming it to a modern classic.

The first modification was to swap out the factory 20" wheels with 22" CEC c883 SUV alloys wrapped in 295/30-22 Michelin Diamaris 4x4 tires. In order to keep up with the timeless silver/black theme, we opted to paint the faces of the c883 SUV wheels in gloss black while leaving the shimmering silver powder coat paint to shine through the inside surfaces of the spokes and outer lip. This inverted paint scheme has been a very popular customer trend at CEC. 

The lower front bumper and rear valance were painted in silver to compliment the existing silver trim on this SUV. The dark smoked taillights help simplify the rear end while elongating the side profile.

First debuted at the CEC 2012 SEMA exhibit, the Caractere Exclusive 911 (991) conversion kit was shown with the European version rear diffuser which has some very small differences from the U.S. version. One of these small variations with the North American version is the license plate bracket is slightly wider than the European version, leaving just enough room to accommodate a license plate frame. This version still works perfectly with the rest of the conversion kit that includes a front bumper, side skirts and a rear wing with integrated third brake light, boot lid and engine vents.

The entire conversion kit can be ordered as a complete kit or individually for a more subtle enhancement. Also available is a sport exhaust system that is valve controlled for a deeper, more aggressive exhaust note for when you desire it. Check out this Mercedes-Benz CL63 AMG sent into us all the way from Johannesburg, South Africa from tuning specialist RACE! Judging from their website, they are primarily a custom motorcycle shop but have been dabbling with custom car tuning. We were contacted by RACE! through our Facebook page after a client saw our c884 Forged wheels on a previous build and said he had to have a set of staggered 21” CEC c884 Forged wheels, color matched and wrapped with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

The c884 Forged was specifically designed to be an upgrade from the factory forged wheels by reducing unprung weight in key areas of the wheel, while still allowing the wheel to maintain a very high load rating.

Väth carbon fiber roof and deck lid spoilers add to the aggressiveness of this phenomenal ride. Väth has been a pioneer of carbon fiber aerodynamic products since mid-2006 and offers a wide range of aerodynamic, as well as other performance products for Mercedes-Benz.

The BMW M5 was first introduced in ’84 and has been reinvented for the 5^th time this year. The most recent M5 to be unleashed comes with a standard V8 twin turbo that delivers 560 horsepower from 6,000 to 7,000 rpm and 502 lb-ft. of torque at the opposite end of the range. The gobs of power weren’t enough for one of our clients, so they brought it to us so we could add some extra juice and styling accents.

Visual changes were the first thing to be tackled. The front kidney grille frame, fender trim, and M5 trunk emblem were painted gloss black. A gloss black vinyl hood stripe was added and carried through to the roof. Front and rear indicators as well as the door handle trims were color matched to the Alpine White body color. AC Schnitzer roof and trunk spoilers were installed, along with an ACS carbon fiber front lip spoiler.

With the styling cues up to par in the appearance department, it’s time to talk about the performance. A custom engine control unit reprogrammed by CEC Miami adds approximately 70 HP. The Eisenmann non-resonated center pipes and Eisenmann performance exhaust system gave this beast a voice. This BMW M5 sits on staggered 21” CEC c884 Forged wheels in custom color-matched Alpine White / Gloss Black finish wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires to make sure all that power makes its way to the ground. Now to make sure this client doesn’t have a date with "The Boys in Blue", we’ve installed the top of the line model from Escort Radar, the 9500Ci.
