CEC SEMA 2012 RECAP

The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) was formed in 1963 by 13 of the biggest names in the industry 29 years ago. About 22 years ago CEC Wheels started to attend this grand exhibition, and helped change the way the industry presents new products. We wanted to bring an element of class and sophistication, and every year since the beginning we have continued to raise the bar higher than the year before.

The CEC booth proudly exhibited, for the first time in North America, the CARACTERE EXCLUSIVE tuning line for Porsche vehicles. The stars of the show were a CARACTERE EXCLUSIVE 991 (world premiere), a CARACTERE EXCLUSIVE Cayenne Turbo, an AMG SL63 and an Audi S7. Each vehicle was wrapped by the latest innovation from 3M, a Pearl Matte White 1080 Series Wrap Film which drew rave reviews. Each car displayed different wheels to showcase CEC's growing wheel offerings. Enjoy the pictures and details below.

Also on display was a newly designed wheel from Antera, the Type 509 a directional multi-spoke SUV wheel with a diamond-cut finish. Available sizes are 20” and 22” exclusively for the SUV and light truck markets.

CEC was proud to debut the all new 2013 CARACTERE EXCLUSIVE tuning program for the Porsche 991 for the first time to the world. This full aerodynamic kit consists of, a new front bumper with built-in air intakes, vented side skirts, rear diffuser and spoiler; on top of the aero kit we have also added a C.E Stainless Steel Sport Exhaust system. The Porsche 911 sat on the newly released c884 in staggered 20” with 20" Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and lowered by H&R Sport Springs.

The CARACTERE EXCLUSIVE wide-body program for the Porsche Cayenne (958) made its first North American debut this year at SEMA; complete with front and rear bumper assemblies, side skirts, extended wheel arches, and roof spoiler. We showcased the c883 SUV in 22" in Matte Black/Machined finish, while contrasting with 22" c881 custom painted Matte White/Machined on the passenger side. Wrapped in 22" Michelin Diamaris 4x4 tires and lowered using the RENNtech V3 digital suspension lowering module for Porsche. This wide-body Cayenne Turbo didn’t need any models to show it off it does that on its own!

The next car in our SEMA spot light was one of the first 2013 Audi S7's sold in North America. This being the first S7 in North America we wanted to mount something equally extraordinary, the first set of c884 Multi-Piece Forged wheels custom painted Matte White seemed like the way to go! Standard sizing will be offered from 19” up to 22” and widths ranging in size from 8” up to 13”. The unique finishes complemented this car nicely and the consensus was this S7 looked phenomenal.

The final vehicle featured was a beautiful 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG. With all the goodies that AMG puts on this car to start, we were hard pressed on how to improve this work of art. One way was to add our new CEC c885 Multi-piece Forged wheel, finished in matching Matte White/Machined, which was introduced to the industry in 20" (front) and 21" (rear) sizing for the SL63 AMG. The passenger side also featured a new CEC wheel; the c884 in a stylish Matte Gunmetal/Machined finish in a staggered 20" application. The RENNtech V3 digital suspension lowering module for Mercedes supplied the aggressive stance, rounding out the extensive modifications for this Mercedes.

If you were able to make it out to SEMA to visit our booth to meet our staff and beautiful model, we would like to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Special thanks to Beverly Hills Porsche, Fletcher Jones Mercedes, 3M, Michelin, H&R, RENNtech, Antera and Caractere for all your support. If you were not able to visit us this year, we hope you can join us next year!
